Neat Things

Back to Main

Were you looking for that random pile of links to random nooks of the internet like it was the late 90s?  BOY ARE YOU IN LUCK MOTHERFUCKERS!

I'll pop stuff here as it catches my fancy.  Go gawk at it.  Or not.

Cereal's Lair - How the fuck do you even type that URL?  Some rando person I met through people into PSO2.  A personal website of this caliber NEEDS to be shared.  Honor demands it.  For maximum retro you probably want to view this in the Sea Monkey browser or something.

Schiavona's Crystalline Fortress - So when I saw that neocities was a thing that existed I hoped Schiavona and was like "Yo Schiavona, this is a thing that exists."  And he was like "Yeah, i got a page on it." So naturally I had to get the link.  And here it is.  See above note on Sea Monkey.

City of Heroes: Rebirth - So after city of heroes closed and after some time someone leaked the sources and a variety of servers were made.  Lotta people went off to the Homecoming server but I'm wont to play on Rebirth,  Why?  Well, Guardian Archetype, they have new content in the pipe that's actually expanding out that half finished zome Cryptic had in their files, Kallisti Warf.  Also Guardian Achetype.  It's a small community, often times in the evening the mob of players will all crowd into Incarnate Raids, so if you are looking for people to help you/team up with content try to catch them outside those hours.

Marginalia Search - Ok, so let's say you want to search for something off the beaten path, and you want Marginalia.  You want a search engine that isn't going to feed you a ton of crap and ads and stuff you want Marginalia.  There's a few browser addons that'll stuff this into your list of search engines so go for it already.

Nobara Project - So let's say you want to get away from windows for whatever reason, or you just want to get yourself prepared for when microsoft decides to push things to the trust thermocline.  But Linux can be a pain in the ass to set all the stuff up if you aren't sure what you are doing.  Enter Nobara Project.  A guy by the alias Glorious Eggroll made it for his father who wasn't very computer savvy after his windows drivers imploded on him.  His father is a gamer and doesn't handle consoles well.  Long story short this is a turnkey installation of Linux that has all that stuff handled.  Heck, I was able to run a windows program in Nobara by just double clicking it from the folder I had it unzipped in.  What the fudge Nobara.  Give it a shot if you wanna try an OS but don't want things overly complex.

JWZ Blog - Blog by a former netscape/mozilla programmer.  Weird shit.  Very old-vibe web.
