Random Rabbit Matrix is Dead

What a weekend.  Conduit drops an update.  I apply the update.  conduit stops responding to traffic.  I can't use it.  I spend the next two days trying to figure out how to make it work.  Evnetually I threw my hands up and gave up. 

My matrix account is now @bellimora:4d2.org I mean just LOOK at 4d2.org.  It's amazingly 1995.  That along with the short but hitchhiker's inspired name was enough for me to jump on the bandwagon.  Let someone else do the hard work.

A big lesson learned though is a lost a few chats with useful links with the collapse of Random Rabbit because everyone in the chat was from random rabbit.  For important chats, invite an alt account from another reliable server in like matrix.org.  That way if the main server collapses the other server will still have a federated log of the chat and you can recover from there, especially if you made that account an admin as well.

Hindsight is 20/20 but now I know.

I got a few friends back in a new assortment of spaces.  So it's all good.  I am still ready if discord hits the trust thermocline.

4d2.org has an interesting general chat called the coffee shop that's open to public and shows up in their public directory.  At the moment it's closed to people joining due to some spammers going at it on the federation.
