Transferring Weights in Blender

I decided to rig something in second
life. I promptly forgot how. I did it once before with the
help of the ever so excellent Lilith. So I poked her again.
Poor thing has to be flustered constantly whilst helping me out of my
ignorance.
It's not the most intuitive workflow but
what you need to do is this:
So after you got your thingy layered over
your mesh that you're going to rig against, using shift select and
selecting the recipient of the weights last. Then go into weight
paint mode. Now, press F3 to enter search and type in "transfer
weights". In the dealy that pops up change "source layers" from
"active layer" to "By name"
It might take a moment and then it'll be
done.
But wait, there's more.
Now you need to select the object you are
rigging to, select the skeleton, press ctrl+P in the dealy that pops up
select "armature deform"
You are now Ret-2-Go.
